Brigitte Anne Hague
Brigitte Anne Hague produces large original silkscreen prints as an aesthetic and emotional response to her own life experiences. She draws inspiration from wide-ranging sources - her environment, human relationships, memories of beautiful and seductive foreign locations, and the gestures and movements associated with dance. Explaining her method of working Brigitte says, I really enjoy creating these large, vibrant, abstract artworks. Generally, I will work on several pieces simultaneously, building up the layers of colour over a period of time. Each piece develops individual characteristics and I am constantly watching, and assessing, how the overall effect is developing. Nothing is fully planned in advance and the work becomes a dialogue between myself and the materials I work with. Colour, shape and mark are juxtaposed to evoke space and currents of energy, inviting the viewer to a sensory response"."
