Emma Rose
A colourist and semi-abstract painter, Emma Rose lives close to Bath and has become a well-known figure in the art scene here and in London. She produces vibrant and arresting work, taking inspiration from landscape, nature and memory. Each painting celebrates a view, experience or stories - with layers of colour and texture woven into the sense of place, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beautiful works of creative imagination. She travelled widely in her 20's and 30's, absorbing raw elements of the landscape - India, Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, Kenya, Nepal, Thailand to name but a few. These intense experiences still inform her work, keeping her "internal reservoir of remembered senses".
Emma works with Indian inks and acrylics to produce her engaging paintings which have great depth and authenticity. She has developed her own unique language to communicate her sense of awe and historical longing for the land and sea. Their finely-wrought surfaces and textural diversity have great sensory appeal, restless - but always carefully realised.
Emma's works have been bought by private collectors in the UK and as far afield as India, Kenya, USA and Canada.
