Eric Orme

Based In Liverpool, Eric Orme is largely self-taught, and is currently studying Printmaking and Ceramics at Liverpool College. He has exhibited regularly in various one-man and group shows in the North West, and produced a large volume of commissioned abstract paintings for commercial interiors. Eric's work is inspired by found objects, particularly the scratches and marks on worn surfaces. He represents these marks in his abstract work, using a variety of media and methods to imprint the canvas. The physical process of markmaking is an integral part of his work. His artistic versatility is reflected in his ability to produce abstracts based on almost any material, ranging from carpet samples to rusted and welded objects, which he collects.
