Jenny Woodhouse
Jenny Woodhouse studied Fine Art at Falmouth College of Arts after partaking in various art projects in the UK and abroad, after which she returned to her childhood home of Cornwall, and is currently based in St Ives. Her striking seascapes hover between abstraction and figuration. The images themselves do not usually depict an actual place, but evolve from something observed, such as the drama of a high tide. Jenny comments: 'I enjoy walking and exploring the landscape, but prefer to create my work in the studio, where I feel free to experiment. Textures are built up, often in several layers, and then scratched and overpainted until I am left with a remaining essence and feeling for the natural forms of the sea.' Jenny has exhibited extensively throughout Cornwall, and various exhibitions celebrating Cornish Art in London.
