Ranpal Gill
Ranpal Gill studied Fine Art at Middlesex University, and has been living and working as an artist in London for several years. His decision to become an artist was actually inspired by a deaf drummer he saw on TV, whom he says gave him a renewed sense of creative purpose! Ranpal's work is an exploration of the past and present, based on his own memories and notions of remembrance. Jewellery, fabric, texture and light are an important element of his work, and he explores the glittering and shining nature of different materials using oils applied with a scalpel. The resulting paintings have a luxurious, exotic quality which also reflect elements of 15th Century Flemish painters such as Van Eyck in the exquisite use of detail. Ranpal exhibits his work in London, and he has most recently shown at the Mall Galleries.
