Stephen Whitmore

Stephen Whitmore is a self taught artist based in Newcastle-under-Lyme. He has a passion for wildlife, nature and the environment and from an early age he has aways loved to draw and take photos. Stephen mainly uses oils and acrylics in his work, however he avoids using paint brushes, instead bringing in different materials and objects from nature to create unique and colourful art.

Stephen was diagnosed with autism a few years ago and he describes art as being 'the only thing that helps me'. He also likes going for long walks which help to kickstart his day - and from here he will bring back anything he can find to use in his work in order to bring it to life.

Stephen is also currently working on a children's book which he has written and illustrated himself, with the hope that it will be published soon.
