Su James Dean

Working with both the figure and landscape, Susan James Dean is an established artist and teacher. A graduate from the School of Art at Hertfordshire University, Susan's paintings and drawings are regularly shown in mixed and solo exhibitions. Her work from the figure is underpinned by many years of drawing from observation, exploring the relationship between mark, surface, form and space. Achieving an interaction of the structure of the body with the dynamic expression of the body's energy and movement is a strong aim of each piece of work, responding to a sense of movement within the landscape continues to be a strong source of inspiration.
